Silver Group The focus of this group is to introduce athletes in the 8 and under, 9-10 and 11-12 age groups to the skills and techniques employed in the sport of competitive swimming. This preparation will take place in an environment of mutual trust and respect among coaches, parents and athletes. In preparing for competitive success, the methodology employed in this group will emphasize understanding and executing technical skills with both mind and body that will prepare the young people for long-term success in and out of the pool. To this end, in order to be considered for placement in the Silver group, athletes need to fit the following criteria…
- Be between 8 and 12 years of age
- Be able to complete all 4 competitive stroke disciplines legally
- 10 + Under B time standards in 2 of the 4 competitive stroke disciplines
- Able to complete 5 x 100 free @ 2:00 interval
- Able to complete 5 x 100 kick @ 2:30 interval
- Has had at least 1 season of year-round swimming experience
- Be willing and able to attend 75% of practices offered
Silver Practice Schedule :
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6:30-7:45pm
Tuesday, Thursday 6:00-7:45pm
Saturday TBA
